- Type *#*#6485#*#* in the Phone app and find the MF_05 and MF_06 values.
- MF_05 is the current capacity; MF_06 is the original capacity.
- Battery health = MF_05 ÷ MF_06 × 100.
- The code is not an official feature and may not work on every model or software version.
- If the charge drains fast, the phone shuts down suddenly or the battery swells, have it checked whatever the number says.
01What is battery health?
Battery health is the share of its original capacity that a battery can still hold. Batteries age chemically with use, so the same full charge lasts less time. Xiaomi settings show detailed battery usage, but not every model shows a battery health percentage. Reading the capacity values with a service code is the most practical way.
02Checking Xiaomi battery health with the code
- Open the Phone app. Switch to the keypad.
- Type the code. Enter *#*#6485#*#*; you do not need to press call, the screen opens by itself.
- Find the values. Look for the MF_05 and MF_06 lines.
- Calculate. Divide MF_05 by MF_06 and multiply by 100.
03What do the values mean?
| Line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| MF_05 | Current battery capacity |
| MF_06 | Original factory capacity |
| MF_02 | Completed charge cycles (some models) |
| MB_06 | Battery condition text (some models) |
Example: if MF_06 shows 5000000 and MF_05 shows 4100000, battery health is 4100000 ÷ 5000000 × 100 = 82. The extra zeros come from the unit; the ratio stays the same.
04When should the battery be replaced?
The number alone is not enough to decide. As a general guide, once capacity drops below 80 percent the shorter battery life becomes clearly noticeable. A replacement is worth considering if you see these signs:
- The charge runs out quickly. You need to recharge by midday.
- The phone shuts down by itself. Especially in the cold or at around 20–30 percent.
- The battery has swollen. The back cover or screen edge is lifting.
- It overheats while charging. It also stays warm in normal use.
If the battery is swelling or the phone shuts down suddenly, stop using it and bring it in. Choose your model on our Xiaomi models or POCO models page and ask about a battery replacement on WhatsApp.
