iPhone processor fault: signs, restore errors and repair

01Why is the processor not replaced?

On iPhones the processor is soldered to the board and paired to work with the storage. Swapping the processor for another part breaks this pairing. So with a fault in the processor area, the aim is to repair the components and connections around it; if that is not possible, a board replacement is discussed.

03Try these first

  1. Force restart. Use the button combination for your model.
  2. Another cable and computer. If you get a restore error, try a different cable, port and up-to-date software.
  3. Charge. Leave the phone on charge for half an hour and try again.

A restore erases the device; if you have no backup, get a diagnosis before doing this step.

04Repair

At the free diagnosis the battery, cable and connections are tested first; if the fault is on the board, the faulty area is found by measurement.
