What is Haptic Touch on iPhone, and how do you set it?

Haptic Touch is the iPhone feature that opens a shortcut menu with a light vibration when you press and hold an item. It replaced 3D Touch, which sensed pressure on the screen, from iPhone XR and iPhone 11 onwards. You can set how quickly the menu opens under Accessibility › Touch.

  1. Touch duration. Choose Fast or Slow in Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Haptic Touch.
  2. System haptics. Turn on Settings › Sounds & Haptics › System Haptics.
  3. Vibration. Accessibility › Touch › Vibration should be on.
  4. Test. Press and hold an app on the Home Screen; a menu and vibration should appear.

Menu names vary by iOS version.
