Changing and viewing a Wi-Fi password on iPhone

A Wi-Fi password is changed on the router’s admin page or your internet provider’s app, not on the iPhone. After the change, go to Settings › Wi-Fi, tap the network’s info icon, choose “Forget This Network” and rejoin with the new password. You can view the saved password on the same screen with Face ID.

01Changing the password

  1. Router page. Open the admin address on the router’s label in a browser, or use your provider’s app.
  2. Wireless settings. Type the new password in the Wi-Fi or wireless section and save.
  3. iPhone. In Settings › Wi-Fi, tap the network’s info icon and choose “Forget This Network”.
  4. Rejoin. Select the network and enter the new password.

Menu names vary by router and iOS version.
