Cracked screen and touch not working: what to do

If touch stopped working after the screen cracked, remove the protector, wipe the screen and restart the phone first. If it still does not respond, the crack has reached the touch layer. On most phones touch is built into the screen, so the screen is replaced. Back up your data before the repair.

  1. Remove the protector. A cracked protector can block touches.
  2. Wipe it. Wipe the screen with a dry, soft cloth; keep your hands dry.
  3. Restart. Restart the phone using the buttons.
  4. Back up. Back up with an OTG mouse on Android or a computer on either phone.
