Huawei back glass and screen replacement: when both are broken

If a dropped Huawei phone broke both its screen and back glass, both can be replaced in the same repair. The screen’s picture and touch are checked first, then the camera lens under the back glass and wireless charging. On curved-screen and in-display fingerprint models, the part choice is discussed separately.

Key points
  • The screen and back glass can be replaced in the same repair.
  • The screen is checked first, then the back glass and camera lens.
  • On curved-screen models a screen replacement takes extra care.
  • On in-display fingerprint models the screen type matters.
  • Back up your data before the repair.

01When both are broken

PartCheckedNote
ScreenPicture, touch, fingerprintIf the panel is fine, some models can have just the glass replaced
Back glassCracks, camera lens, liftingThe camera lens can come with the cover
FrameDents, bendingA bent frame affects how new parts sit

Replacing both in one repair means the device is opened only once.

02Curved screens and the fingerprint sensor

Some Huawei models have curved screen edges; replacing these takes extra care. On models with an in-display fingerprint sensor, the type of screen fitted can affect the sensor. The options and their differences are explained before approval; the replaced parts are invoiced in your name. Screen options are on our screen replacement page, and back glass on our back glass replacement page.

03Repair steps

  1. Free diagnosis. The screen, back glass, camera lens and frame are checked.
  2. Approval. Part options and the price are sent; nothing is done without your approval.
  3. Replacement. The screen and back glass are renewed.
  4. Test. Touch, fingerprint, cameras and, if present, wireless charging are tested.

You can reach your Huawei model’s repair rows from the Huawei models page.

Phone works but the screen is black: what to do

If your phone rings or vibrates but the screen is black, the phone is on; the problem is the screen or its connection. Force restart and charge it first. Shine a torch close to the screen in the dark: a faint picture means a backlight fault. If it started after a drop or liquid, the screen is usually replaced.
