iPad touch screen not working: how to fix it

If your iPad’s touch screen does not respond or lags, clean the screen, remove the case and protector and force restart it. Update the software. If only one area fails, or it started after a drop, the touch layer is damaged; on some models the front glass and touch layer can be replaced separately from the display.
