iPhone losing charge while charging: causes and fixes

  1. Another adapter and cable. Try a compatible adapter plugged into a wall socket.
  2. Reduce use. Close games, navigation and Personal Hotspot while charging.
  3. Check the heat. Take it out of the case and charge it somewhere cool.
  4. Check the port. Dust or lint may have built up; do not poke it with metal.
  5. Battery Health. Check Settings › Battery › Battery Health for a “Service” recommendation.
