iPhone screen flex replacement: when is it needed?

On most iPhone models, the screen flex (the cable linking the screen to the board) is part of the screen. When it is damaged, the picture comes and goes, lines appear or touch works only in parts. In most cases the whole screen is replaced; repairing the flex alone is not possible on every model.

  3. Screen or flex. If the flex is part of the screen, the screen is replaced.
