Is a dropped phone covered by warranty? A part-by-part look

02The warranty side

The manufacturer warranty covers manufacturing faults. Drops and knocks count as accidental damage, so they are usually outside the standard warranty. Some manufacturers’ extra protection plans and some insurance policies may cover accidental damage on their own terms; check your policy or the manufacturer.
