PlayStation- With no picture, first check the cable, the TV’s HDMI input and the source setting.
- If the port is bent, has broken pins or is loose, do not force the cable.
- The HDMI port is soldered to the console’s board; it should be replaced by a skilled technician.
- A port replacement does not affect your saved games or account.
- You can send the console by post in its original box or a well-protected one.
01Signs of a faulty PS5 HDMI port
- The console turns on but there is no picture. The light is white and the TV says “no signal”.
- The picture comes and goes. Moving the cable cuts the picture or causes noise.
- The cable sits loosely. The plug wobbles in the port or does not go in fully.
- Visible damage in the port. Bent or broken pins can be seen inside.
02Check the cable and TV first
- Check the source. Make sure the TV is on the right HDMI input.
- Try another cable. Use the cable that came with the console or one you know works.
- Try another input or screen. Try the TV’s other HDMI input or a different screen.
- Reset the video output in Safe Mode. With the console off, hold the power button and release it after the second beep; in Safe Mode you can try changing the video output.
03Why do HDMI ports fail?

04How the port is replaced
The HDMI port is soldered to the console’s board. The old port is removed, the contact points on the board are checked and the new port is soldered in. The console is then tested for picture and sound. Data is usually preserved during the repair; still, back up your saved games before the repair.
