How to reduce photo size on iPhone

To reduce photo size on iPhone, choose Small or Medium when adding photos in Mail, or use the Resize Image action in the Shortcuts app. To make new photos take less space, choose High Efficiency in Settings › Camera › Formats.

02Resizing with Shortcuts

  1. Create a shortcut. Add the Resize Image action to a new shortcut in Shortcuts.
  2. Set the size. Enter the width; the height can stay automatic.
  3. Save. Add the Save to Photo Album action at the end.
  4. Use it. Send the photo to the shortcut from the Share menu.

Menu names vary by iOS version.
