Selling a new phone: what to check before you sell

When selling a new phone, the price depends mostly on whether the box is sealed and on the invoice and warranty document.   1. Back up. If the phone was used, back up your data.
  2. Sign out. On iPhone, sign out of your Apple ID and turn off Find My; on Android, sign out of your Google account and turn off Find My Device.
  3. Reset. Restore factory settings and remove the SIM and memory card.
  4. Prepare documents. The invoice, warranty document and your ID.
