Xiaomi notifications not working: how to fix it

Late or missing notifications on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones are usually caused by battery saver stopping the app in the background. Turning on the app’s notification permission, setting battery saver to “No restrictions” and allowing autostart usually fix it.

01Settings step by step

  1. Notification permission. Turn on the app’s notifications in Settings › Notifications.
  2. Battery saver. Set battery saver to “No restrictions” in the app’s settings.
  3. Autostart. Turn on autostart in the app’s settings.
  4. Lock it. Press and hold the app in recent apps and lock it.
  5. Do Not Disturb. Check it is off in the control centre.

Menu names vary by HyperOS and MIUI version.
