- A calibration code does not fix battery health; at most it opens an information screen.
- Calibration helps when the percentage is wrong: shutting down at 30% or staying at 100% for long.
- To calibrate, charge fully once, use the phone until it turns off, then charge it fully without interruption.
- Frequent calibration wears the battery; do not do it more than once a month.
- For swelling, sudden shutdowns or very low battery health, the fix is a battery replacement.
01What calibration can and cannot do
| Situation | Does calibration help? |
|---|---|
| Percentage jumps around | Yes, usually |
| Stays at 100% for very long | Yes, usually |
| Low battery health | No, the battery is worn |
| Swollen battery | No, replace it now |
| Sudden shutdown at 20–30% | Usually not; check the battery |
02How to calibrate
- Charge fully. Charge to 100% and leave it plugged in a little longer.
- Use it until it turns off. Use the phone normally until it shuts down by itself.
- Charge without interruption. Charge to 100% while off, without unplugging.
- Restart. Turn it on and watch the reading for a day.
