02What to watch when comparing
- Model number. Different versions are sold under the same name (e.g. 4G and 5G); the number shows the exact version.
- IMEI match. The IMEI shown on the phone should be the same as on the box and invoice. In Turkey, you can check the registration status with the IMEI query service on e-Devlet.
- Security patch date. A very old date may show the phone has not been updated for a long time.
- Storage. The free space shown is less than the total because of the space used by system files.
The steps for viewing specs in the menus are in how to check phone specs, and finding the model name in how to tell what your phone’s model is.
03What settings do not show
Settings show information, not the state of the parts. Shadows or stains on the screen, blurry cameras, a loose charging port and the speaker sound need to be tested separately. How to see the battery state is in check Android battery health.
