Hey Siri not recognising my voice: how to fix it

If “Hey Siri” does not recognise your voice, first check “Listen for” in Settings › Siri; turning it off and on makes the iPhone learn your voice again. Check that the Siri language matches the one you speak. It may not listen when face down or covered. If Voice Memos records no sound either, check the microphone.

  1. Listen setting. Turn on “Listen for” in Settings › Siri.
  2. Set up your voice again. Turn the option off and on and finish the setup.
  3. Language. Check that the Siri language matches the one you speak.
  4. Position. Keep the iPhone face up and uncovered.
  5. Microphone test. Make a short recording in Voice Memos and play it back.
  6. Update. Update iOS and restart.
