How to clean corrosion in a charging port

Green or white residue in the charging port is corrosion, usually after moisture or liquid. You can gently clean light residue with a dry, soft brush while the phone is off. Do not use metal objects, water or liquid cleaners. If the pins are darkened or worn, the port should be replaced.

01Safe cleaning

  1. Turn it off. Switch off the phone and unplug the cable.
  2. Dry brush. Gently brush the port with a soft, dry brush.
  3. Plastic tip. Carefully remove stuck lint with a thin plastic or wooden tip.
  4. Test it. After a few minutes, try charging with another cable.
