Is a charging port fault covered by warranty?

If a charging port fault comes from manufacturing, it is covered within the legal warranty period. Liquid contact, corrosion, bent pins or signs of impact usually put it outside warranty. Lint and dust in the port are not a fault; cleaning fixes them. The maker or an authorised repairer decides on warranty.
