How to delete an iCloud account

To delete an iCloud account completely, sign in on Apple’s data and privacy page (privacy.apple.com) and request deletion; it cannot be undone, and iCloud data and purchases are deleted. If you only want to remove the phone from the account, tap your name in Settings and use Sign Out.

02Steps to delete the account

  1. Backup. Make a copy of your photos, contacts and notes.
  2. Subscriptions. Tap your name in Settings and review Subscriptions.
  3. Sign out of devices. Use Sign Out on devices linked to the account.
  4. Request. Go to privacy.apple.com and start the deletion request.
  5. Verification. Complete the verification steps Apple sends.
