How to fix a cracked phone screen

A crack in a phone screen cannot be fixed at home; toothpaste or baking soda does not close a crack in glass. If the picture and touch work, usually only the front glass is replaced; if the screen is black, black and white or spotted, the display is affected too. A screen protector stops it splintering for now.

  1. Fit a protector. It stops cracked glass from splintering for now.
  2. Back up. Back up your data before the screen fails completely.
  3. Keep it dry. Moisture and dust can get in through the crack.
