iPhone 13 touch screen not working: causes and fixes

If the touch screen on your iPhone 13 does not work, force restart it and remove the screen protector first. If an area does not respond at all or there are spots or lines, the screen needs replacing; data is usually preserved during the repair, but back up your data first.

01Try these first

  1. Force restart. Press and release volume up, press and release volume down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
  2. Remove the protector. Lifting or thick protectors block touch.
  3. Clean the screen. Moisture and dirt can disturb touch.
  4. Check the settings. If Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Touch Accommodations is on, turn it off.
  5. Update. Install any pending iOS update.
