Touch problems after a screen replacement: causes and fixes

If touch does not respond, lags or presses by itself after a screen replacement, restart the phone and remove the screen protector first. If it continues, the screen connection or the fitted screen part should be checked; contact the repair centre that did the work.

  1. Restart. Turn the phone off and on.
  2. Remove the protector. Thick or poorly fitting protectors can block touch.
  3. Update. Install any pending software update.
  4. Clean the screen. Wipe away adhesive residue or moisture with a soft cloth.
  5. Run a touch test. Drag an icon across the whole screen and note where it sticks.
