iPhone camera shaking: how to fix it

If the picture on your iPhone camera shakes or wobbles, or the camera makes a clicking sound, the optical image stabilisation or focus part is usually damaged. This often happens after a knock or strong vibration such as a motorcycle. No setting fixes it; the faulty camera module is replaced.

02What should you do?

  1. Remove the case. Take off any magnetic case or mount and test again.
  2. Restart. Close the Camera app and restart the phone.
  3. Try the lenses. Switch between 0.5x, 1x and zoom; see which lens is affected.
  4. Record it. Take a short video of the shaking and send it on WhatsApp.
  5. Avoid vibration. Do not mount the phone on a powerful motorcycle.
