iPhone half screen not responding: causes

If part of your iPhone screen does not respond to touch, remove the case and protector, wipe the screen and restart the phone first. Drag an app icon across the whole screen to find the area that does not respond. If it continues, the screen or its connection is damaged and the screen is replaced.

  1. Case and protector. Remove both and test again.
  2. Cleaning. Wipe the screen with a dry, soft cloth.
  3. Restart. Turn the phone off and on, or force restart it.
  4. Drag test. Hold an icon and drag it over the whole screen; note where it drops.
  5. Update. Install any pending iOS update.
