Screen replaced but the touch is not working: why?

Touch not working after a screen replacement is usually caused by a connection that is not fully seated, a mismatched or faulty panel, or damage during the repair. On some models, the chip that controls touch is on the main board; the problem stays even with a new screen.

  1. Restart. Touch is sometimes not detected on the first start.
  2. Remove the protector. A thick new protector can weaken touch.
  3. Update. If the phone software is not up to date, update it.
  4. Go back to the shop. Ask the shop that did the repair to recheck the connection and panel.
