iPhone screen colour shift: when does it appear?

A colour shift on an iPhone screen is when colours turn green, pink or yellow in one area or across the whole screen. If the settings are fine, look at when the shift starts: at low brightness, when you press the screen, when it gets warm or after a screen replacement. The condition largely shows the likely cause.

02What you can try yourself

  1. Rule out the settings. Colour Filters, Classic Invert, Night Shift and True Tone are covered in iPhone screen colours wrong.
  2. Look at a plain white and grey image. A tint shows more clearly on flat colours.
  3. Take a screenshot. Open it on another device; if the colour is fine there, the problem is the screen.
  4. Change the brightness. Note whether the shift appears only at low brightness.

03Colour difference after a screen replacement
