iPhone screen frame (bezel) replacement: when is it needed?

On some iPhone models, a thin plastic frame (bezel) runs around the screen, and the screen is bonded to the body through it. If the frame breaks or its adhesive fails, the screen lifts at a corner, a gap opens at the edge and dust gets in. The frame or adhesive is renewed; sometimes it is replaced with the screen.

02What is done in the repair?

  1. The cause is found. Battery swelling and a bent body are checked first.
  2. The frame or adhesive is renewed. If the frame can be separated from the screen, a new one is fitted; if not, it may be replaced with the screen.
  3. It is tested. Touch, display and sensors are checked.
