Phone antenna replacement and repair

If the phone loses signal only when held a certain way, or gets clearly weaker signal than other phones in the same place, the antenna or its connection may be faulty. Check the SIM, network settings and coverage first. After a drop, liquid or a housing replacement, the antenna connection should be inspected.

  1. SIM card. Remove and refit it, and try another SIM.
  2. Compare. Check another phone’s signal in the same place.
  3. Network settings. Reset network settings; data is not deleted.
  4. IMEI. Check that *#06# shows the IMEI number.
