Phone dropped: sound but no picture, what to do

If calls, notifications or vibration still work after a drop but the screen is black, the phone is working; the problem is the screen or the cable connecting it to the board. Data is usually preserved during a repair; still, back up your data before the repair.

01Try these first

  1. Force restart. On iPhone: volume up, volume down, then hold the side button; on Android: hold power and volume down together.
  2. Check brightness. If the screen is very dark, ask Siri on iPhone or Google Assistant on Android to raise the brightness.
  3. Back up. Connect the phone to a computer it trusted before and back up.
