Phone screenshot not working: how to fix it

If screenshots do not work, first make sure you use the right shortcut: on a Face ID iPhone press the side and volume up buttons together, and on Android power and volume down. Some banking and video apps block screenshots. If a button is broken, use AssistiveTouch on iPhone or the panel tile on Android.

02Without buttons

  1. AssistiveTouch (iPhone). Add Screenshot to the menu in Settings › Accessibility › Touch › AssistiveTouch.
  2. Back Tap (iPhone). Assign Screenshot in Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Back Tap.
  3. Android. Use the screenshot tile in the notification panel.
  4. Storage. Free up space if storage is full.

Menu names vary by brand and version.
