- A purple spot comes from damage to the layers inside the panel.
- The spot does not fade by itself; it often grows slowly.
- Touch may stop working where the spot is.
- The fix is a screen replacement; replacing only the glass is not enough.
- Back up your data before the spot grows.
01What causes a purple spot?
When the phone is dropped, sat on or crushed in a bag, the panel under the glass can crack. The damaged area shows as a purple, dark blue or black spot. Even if the glass looks fine, the inner layer may be damaged.
02Will the purple spot go away?
No. The spot comes from physical damage inside the panel, so settings, software or cleaning will not remove it. It can spread along the crack and affect touch too.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Small spot, screen still usable | Back up and plan a screen replacement |
| The spot is spreading | Do not delay the replacement |
| Touch does not work | Screen replacement |
