- GSM is the communication standard used on mobile networks; your GSM number is your mobile number.
- On iPhone, it appears under Settings › Phone › My Number.
- On Android, it is under Settings › About phone › Status or SIM card status.
- If it does not appear, check your carrier’s app or call another phone.
- The number belongs to the SIM card; put the card in another phone and the number comes with it.
01What is GSM?
GSM is short for a communication standard used on mobile networks. In everyday Turkish use, a “GSM number” means your mobile line’s phone number. Banks, couriers and official forms ask for your mobile number under this name.
02Where to find your own number
- iPhone. Your number appears under Settings › Phone › My Number.
- Android. The phone number appears under Settings › About phone › Status (or SIM card status).
- Carrier app. Your carrier’s app shows your line’s number.
- Call someone. Call a friend; your number appears on their screen.
Menu names vary by brand and software version. On some SIM cards the number is not stored on the card, so settings may show “unknown”.
03GSM number vs IMEI vs SIM number
| Term | What it is |
