How is a phone touch screen glued back?

In the workshop, a lifting touch screen is glued back after the old adhesive is removed and the frame cleaned, using pre-cut tape or liquid adhesive, then left to cure under even pressure. Superglue can damage the panel and the screen cable. If a swollen battery lifted the screen, the battery is replaced first.

01Gluing in the workshop

  1. Check. Why it lifted is checked; a swollen battery is replaced first.
  2. Cleaning. Old adhesive is removed from the frame and the back of the screen.
  3. Gluing. Pre-cut tape or liquid adhesive is applied.
  4. Pressure and curing. The screen is seated with even pressure and left to cure.
  5. Testing. Picture, touch and sensors are tested.

Can a lifting screen be glued back?

Yes, if the screen and its cable are fine; if a swollen battery caused it, the battery is replaced first.

Can I glue it with superglue?

We do not recommend it. It can seep into the panel and screen cable and cause lasting damage.

Is a re-glued screen water-resistant?

After a repair, water resistance should not be taken as factory level.

Will re-gluing the screen delete my data?

Data is usually preserved during a repair; still, you need to back up your data before the repair starts (backups are the customer’s responsibility).
