- A blinking light is usually a notification feature.
- On iPhone, turn it off in Accessibility › Audio & Visual › LED Flash for Alerts.
- On Android, flash or screen notifications are in accessibility settings.
- A flickering or cutting-out picture is a fault, not a setting.
- Back up your data before the repair.
01Turning off the notification light
| Phone | Setting |
|---|---|
| iPhone | Settings › Accessibility › Audio & Visual › LED Flash for Alerts |
| Samsung | Settings › Accessibility › Advanced settings › Flash notification |
| Other Android | Search Settings for “flash notification” or “notification light” |
| Always On Display | In lock screen settings |
Menu names vary by brand, model and version.
02Setting or fault?
- Check where the light is. If the rear flash or a small light at the top blinks, it is a notification feature.
- Take a screenshot. If the picture flickers, the screenshot looks normal; the screen is the problem.
- Change the brightness. Flicker that gets worse at low brightness can point to the panel or connection.
For screen flicker, see phone screen flickering fix and phone screen flex cable repair.
