How to recover contacts from a phone with a broken screen

Contacts on a phone with a broken screen are often already in the cloud: with iCloud on iPhone or a Google account on Android, you can see them from a computer. Otherwise, try a computer backup; if the screen does not work at all, a screen replacement restores access without touching your data.

01Check the cloud first

  1. iPhone. Sign in to icloud.com with your Apple ID on a computer and open Contacts.
  2. Android. Go to contacts.google.com with the Google account on the phone.
  3. Samsung. If Samsung account backup is on, check Samsung Cloud.

If your contacts are there, just sign in with the same account on a new phone.

Data is usually preserved during a repair; still, you need to back up your data before the repair starts (backups are the customer’s responsibility).
