Samsung microphone problem: clean or replace?

  1. Bluetooth. Turn off Bluetooth and try the call again.
  2. Case. A case or protector may cover the microphone hole.
  3. Permissions. Turn on the app’s microphone permission in Settings › Apps.
  4. Safe mode. If the problem disappears in Safe mode, an app is causing it.
  5. Test. Test the microphone in Samsung Members › Support › Phone diagnostics.
  6. Cleaning. Turn the phone off and gently brush the hole with a soft, dry brush.
