Samsung screen shadow problem: causes and fix

A shadow on a Samsung screen is usually burn-in: static items such as the navigation bar, keyboard or status bar leave marks on the AMOLED panel. A grey or greenish shade at low brightness comes from panel unevenness, and a dark shadow after a knock from panel damage. A lasting shadow needs a screen replacement.
