How to see who is calling while you are on a call

To see who is calling while you are on the phone, call waiting must be on: on iPhone it is in Settings › Phone › Call Waiting, on Samsung under Supplementary services in the Phone app settings. When it is on, the second call shows on screen with a beep. The feature must also be active on your line.

  1. Turn it on and wait. Wait a few minutes after turning it on, then test.
  2. Restart. Turn the phone off and on.
  3. Carrier. Ask your carrier whether call waiting is active on your line.
  4. Forwarding. Call forwarding when busy can affect call waiting; check it.

Menu names vary by version. On newer iPhone versions it is under Settings › Apps › Phone.
