Xiaomi touch screen not working: what to do

If the touch screen on a Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone does not work, first dry the screen, unplug it and restart by holding the power button. If a case or protector covers the top of the screen, pocket mode may block touch. If it still fails in safe mode, the screen or touch layer should be checked.
