Phone battery draining by itself: why does it happen?

If your phone battery drains even when you do not use it, first check the battery usage screen: it shows how much each app uses. Background apps, weak signal, location and high brightness drain the battery fast. If the charge suddenly drops at a certain percentage, the battery may be worn.
