OPPO A5s stuck on the logo or crashed after a theme: what to do?

On the OPPO A5s, an incompatible theme or an interrupted update can crash the interface: touch stops working, the navigation keys and notification panel disappear, or the phone stays on the logo. Force restart and try safe mode first; if that fails, recovery mode. Wiping data erases everything.

02Try in order

  1. Force restart. Hold the power button until the phone turns off and on again.
  2. Safe mode. If it starts in safe mode, remove the problem theme or the most recent app; menu names vary with the ColorOS version.
  3. Recovery mode. With the phone off, hold Power and Volume Down together; on many OPPO models the recovery menu opens.
  4. Wipe data (last resort). The wipe data option in the recovery menu erases everything on the phone; after a reset, the phone may ask for Google or OPPO account verification.

03When to go to a repair service
