- iPhone weak Wi-Fi signal: causes and fixesIf your iPhone has weak Wi-Fi, first compare with another device in the same place; if that is weak too, the router or distance is the cause. - iPhone X touch screen not working: try these firstOn the iPhone X, the touch layer is built into the OLED screen; a touch fault means replacing the screen, not a separate part. - Phone “graphics card” chip repair: does a phone have a graphics card?Phones have no separate graphics card like computers; the graphics processor is inside the main processor. A “graphics card fault” on a phone usually means the chips that drive the screen (display, backlight, touch) or the screen connection. These faults can be repaired by replacing the IC on the board.
- Xiaomi POCO X3 turned off and will not turn on: what to do step by stepIf your POCO X3 has switched off and will not turn on, first charge it for half an hour with a different cable, then hold the power button until it vibrates. - Is a dropped phone covered by warranty? A part-by-part lookDamage caused by a drop counts as accidental damage and is usually outside the standard manufacturer warranty. If your phone has an extra protection plan or insurance covering the screen, check its terms. Outside warranty, the screen, back glass, camera and frame can each be repaired.
- iPhone 11 keeps restarting: check the restart logsIf your iPhone 11 restarts by itself, update iOS and check battery health first. If entries named “panic” keep appearing in Analytics Data in Settings, the restarts have been logged by the system; a hardware check may then be needed.
- Is a swollen iPhone battery covered by warranty? What to knowOn an iPhone within warranty, a battery that swelled without any impact, liquid or unauthorised repair marks may be assessed as a manufacturing fault; the manufacturer or an authorised service decides. Out of warranty, or if it is not covered, the battery can be replaced. Either way, unplug the phone and stop using it.
- Keyboard shadow on the iPhone screen: temporary or permanent? If a faint keyboard shadow shows on your iPhone screen, first check your phone’s screen type. On OLED models the shadow may be temporary image retention or permanent burn-in. LCD iPhones (e.g. XR, 11) do not get burn-in; the shadow may come from a pressure mark or panel damage.
- Green line on a Samsung screen: causes and what to doA thin green (sometimes pink) vertical line on a Samsung Galaxy screen usually comes from the AMOLED panel itself. Take a screenshot first: if the line is not in the image, the problem is hardware and a software update usually does not remove it. The lasting fix is a screen replacement.
- Water spilled on the phone and callers cannot hear me: what about the microphones? If callers cannot hear you after water spilled on your phone, or voice recordings are silent, water may have filled the microphone holes. Leave the phone to dry with the holes facing down and do not charge it. Once dry, a voice recording and a speakerphone call show which microphone is affected.
- Phone fell in water and the speaker does not work: a test list once dryWhen a phone falls in water, the speaker often goes quiet because of water in the grille and comes back once dry. Switch the phone off and let it dry; once dry, test the ringtone, music and a speakerphone call in turn. If there is no sound anywhere or crackling continues, the speaker or the board should be checked.

What to know before you claimWhether screen burn-in (permanent ghosting) is covered by warranty depends on the manufacturer and the device’s condition; some may count it as wear from use. - iPhone Apple logo flashing and it will not turn on: fixing a boot loopIf your iPhone keeps flashing the Apple logo and will not start, force restart it and charge it for at least half an hour first.
